Frechducks makes the world go round

How it all began

Some people say that Frechducks was the precursor of facebook...

Well, maybe it's just me saying this, but....

Frechducks.de was setup in 2002, two years before Mark Zuckerberg launched facebook at Harvard. And like facebook, Frechducks.de immediately became a communication and networking tool between students at the University of Freiberg in Germany. It all happened via a guestbook, called the Boernerbuch, where people left entries and others responded. All publicly visible. At it's peak the page saw about a hundred entries a day driven by a loyal group of about 20 students with plenty more just observing in the background. The exchanges are priceless, a window into the past. And it's all still preserved....
